How the timing breaks down:

November: Shoulder season in the Seychelles. It’s slightly windier on the west coast beaches, calmer on the east. Fewer visitors, lower hotel rates, and the island is genuinely beautiful regardless of which direction the wind is blowing.

Early December: Still good, before prices spike for the holiday period. Book hotels early if you're targeting the first two weeks of December.

January and February: The sweet spot. Dry season begins properly, the northwest trade winds settle, and the Seychelles is at its most beautiful. January and February are the best months to visit and you're paying shoulder season prices because most of Europe doesn't think to go in January.

The Seychelles is more than Mahé. The island itself has the capital Victoria and some good beaches, but the real draw is what's reachable: La Digue by ferry for Anse Source d'Argent, Praslin for the Vallée de Mai and its endemic Coco de Mer palms, and dozens of smaller islands by boat. Plan at least 10 days if you want to see more than one island properly.
